AFFENTOR FRANKFURT, a young project by the Werkstatt Frankfurt e. V., is a social project lead by women for women. The Werkstatt Frankfurt is a non-profit organisation that runs numerous social projects. The women’s project AFFENTOR not only enables long-term unemployed women to re-enter working life, but also cooperates with young, urban new-coming designers and support them to realise their ideas and sell their products without any seed capital. With AFFENTOR FRANKFURT we have created a platform in which processing, production, marketing and sales are being realised all-in-one.
Since 2006, the ”Frankfurter Weg zum Berufsabschluß“ – (in English “The Frankfurter Way To A Vocational Qualification“) offers long-term unemployed men and women to acquire additional qualifications, that will help them to re-enter working life. Particularly at the in-house tailoring of AFFENTOR FRANKFURT, women are able to gain a vocational qualification as “tailor and dressmaker”. Here our prospective seamstresses manufacture the designs of the up- and new-coming designers, but also tailor the final product – handmade, of course.
